It Waits is a 2006 direct-to-DVD horror film directed by Steven R. Monroe. This motion picture was shot in British Columbia, Canada.
Dannielle "Danny" St. Claire (Cerina Vincent) is a young woman who lives and works at an isolated outpost of the Forest Service in a remote national park. She is trying to move on from the recent death of her best friend, Julie Cassidy (Miranda Frigon), in a tragic car accident. Danny blames herself for Julie's death, since she was driving the car (after having several drinks at a local bar) when her friend was slain. As Danny settles into her new home and workplace, she begins dating a local young man, Justin Rawley (Dominic Zamprogna). Another character in this movice is magical Native American Professor Joseph Riverwind (Eric Schweig) who showed up to give some exposition and wisdom.
A series of horrific attacks take place and butchered bodies turn up in the forest. Danny investigates and discovers that the killings are the work of an ancient monster, the subject of a Native American legend. The monster was accidentally freed by a group of college students excavating a nearby cave. As the monster kills those close to her, including her boyfriend, Danny discovers that the monster is hunting and stalking her. It is apparently drawn by her sadness and guilt. Trapped alone in the wilderness, Danny must find a way to survive and to save the rest of the world from the monster.
