Ivan is a Slavic masculine given name, corresponding to English John.[1]. The name originates from New Testament Greek Ἰωάννης (Iōánnēs; not from Latin Io(h)annes), which is in turn derived from Hebrew יֹוחָנָן (Yôḥānnān, “‘Yahweh is gracious’”).
