J. J. Fad was a rap group from Rialto, California about 45 minutes east of Los Angeles, California whose name initially stood for Juana, Juanita, Fatima Ann Dania, and were backed by Clarence "DJ Train" Lars. Later the group dropped Juanita and Fatima and added another rapper, with these changes J.J. Fad stood for Just Jammin' Fresh And Def.

J.J. Fad gained popularity with the new line-up that included rappers: MC J.B. (Juana Burns), Baby-D (Dania Birks), DJ Julz (Julie DeFant) and Sassy C. (Michelle Franklin).

History

Their debut album, Supersonic, was released in 1988 and featured the single "Supersonic". Despite being the first all-female rap group nominated for a Grammy, J.J. Fad never cracked the Top 40 again.

That song, along with their song "Eenie Meenie Beats", was later re-worked by Fergie into her single "Fergalicious" (along with sampling from Afro-Rican's "Give It All You Got").

In 2009, J.J. Fad signed with Uncle Louie Music Group. Plans are in the making for a 20th Anniversary Tour with The Fat Boys and a re-release of their album Supersonic.

In 2010, JJ Fad launched their Official Homepage [2] and announced their 2010 tour.
