Joseph Robert "J.R." Redmond (born September 28, 1977) an American football running back who is a free agent in the National Football League. He has previously played for the New England Patriots and Oakland Raiders, and won a Super Bowl as a member of the Patriots. Redmond caught three passes in the Patriots' game-winning overtime drive of the famous "Snow Bowl" playoff game against the Oakland Raiders. The Patriots went on to win their first Super Bowl title, with Redmond catching 3 passes for 24 yards on the Patriots' game-winning drive in the fourth quarter. He is currently a free agent and to this point has not received an offer from any other NFL team.

Redmond is a cousin to NFL running back Derrick Ward.
