At 18, he was cast for the popular MTV TV show Road Rules. At 20, he wrote his first feature for Maxim Magazine. At 21 he signed on for FHM, but took a brief break a few years later to co-host G4 Tech TV's Video Game Vixens. His tenure at FHM came to abrupt end when he was let go for making off-handed remarks about Howard Stern's girlfriend Beth Ostrosky.[2] He also documented his sex life for Glamour [3] and wrote a book about sex under the alias "Allen Jake Bronstein" [4] He currently works in marketing and blogs at Zoomdoggle, a blog about fun he launched with Josh Spear.[5]
Other highlights include his bizarre public stunts, such as bathing in Bryant Park Fountain [6], taking advantage of a loophole to get into the NBA draft [7], eBaying the lead singer position in his band [8], offering himself for marriage [9], freeing a fish into New York's East River, launching a 50 Dates in 50 States quest by soliciting invites from women on the web [10], and offering 1,000 strangers a hand-written love letter.[11] He is also the inventor of the Fun Idea Machine [12] and recently started a text system designed to kill boredom by letting people text NEED FUN to 30644 for fun ideas, for free, by phone.[13] He appeared on CBS Sunday Morning drinking a full bottle of maple syrup to set a new world record.
He dated Kalle Dedolph during the taping of Road Rules.[14] He once tried sending a girl a "secret signal" during a live TV interview, but was found out by the shows producers. [15]
