James White (10 April, 1922 - 19 February, 2009) was a British Labour Party politician. White was Member of Parliament for Glasgow Pollok from 1970 to 1987, when he retired. He served in the Eighth Army under Field Marshall Montgomery during World War II. White was best known for his work with abortion in Parliament and stood up for the working class all over Glasgow. He died on 19 February 2009. He is survived by his daughters, Ann and Doris and son Jim.
