Jar City (Icelandic: M√Ĺrin (About this sound pronunciation )) is director Baltasar Korm√°kur's fifth film and was written by Arnaldur Indri√įason.[1] It is based on the book Tainted Blood by Arnaldur Indri√įason.

Plot synopsis

A world-weary cop comes to believe a recent murder of an elderly man is linked to a case of rape three decades earlier and works to put the pieces together.

Prizes

The film was awarded the Crystal Globe Grand Prix at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in 2007.[2]

Remake

Steve Niles wrote the comic about the film and announced to wrote the storybook of the Remake which is directed by David Gordon Green.[3]
