Jason 'J' Brown (born Jason Paul
Brown, 13 June 1976) was a member of the British boy band, Five.
Born in Aldershot Military
Hospital, as a child he lived in Germany, Canada and all over the North of England. He spent his teenage
and young adult life in Warrington and Newton Le Willows
before joining 5ive. Five was internationally successful,
selling 20 million albums over a period of 5 years.
After Five disbanded in late 2001, Brown kept a low profile for
many years, although he was involved in several protests in the
London area, notably against UK involvement in the wars in the Middle East. In 2006 he
joined with three of his former band mates (excluding Sean Conlon, who was
already committed to a Sony contract) for a planned relaunch of the
band. Enough record company interest was not generated, and the
relaunch was abandoned in early 2007.
In 2007 Brown became a contestant on that year's series of ITV's I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!
and made it into the final along with Christopher
Biggins and Janice Dickinson. He finished in 3rd
place. He also appeared as a part of Ant's team on ITV1's Ant & Dec's Saturday Night
Takeaway (Feb - Mar 2008). Soon after he appeared on
Fivers "Generation Sex". (5th, 19th, 26th May, 2nd and 9th June
2008).
Brown currently resides in north London, not far from Sean Conlon, as well as Hereford, and has recently become involved in
writing/producing for
other musicians.
