Jean-François Adam was a French actor and director (born 14 February 1938 , Paris - died (suicide) 14 October 1980 Paris).

Adams lived with Brigitte Fossey. Their daughter is the actress Marie Adam. He was an assistant of François Truffaut and Jean-Pierre Melville. He is known for having played the small rôle of the lover of Colette in the Antoine Doinel saga, and above all, for playing the philosophy teacher in Maurice Pialat's Graduate First.
