Career

In her early British movies, she performed as Jean Carson, but later changed her forename to Jeannie to avoid confusion with the similarly named American actress Jean Carson.[1]

She starred in the 1956-1957 CBS TV sitcom Hey, Jeannie! as the Scottish character Jeannie MacLennan. In 1960, she met and married Biff McGuire[1] while both were singing on the Broadway production of Finian's Rainbow.

The couple went on tour together the following year with Camelot in which Biff played King Arthur and Jeannie co-starred as Guenevere. Later, they performed at the Seattle Repertory for 15 years, often together. McGuire and Carson married in 1960. They reside in Los Angeles.
