Jeffrey Vallance (born 25 January 1955) is an American artist.
In 1978 Vallance purchased a frozen chicken from Ralph's grocery store, took it to the Los Angeles SPCA pet cemetery and had it buried.[1] He documented this with receipts, photographs and a "Shroud of Blinky", all reproduced in the book Blinky The Friendly Hen, published in 1979. It was later reprinted in 1996 and there was a thirtieth anniversary edition in 2008. Blinky, and the idea of Blinky, has been a continuing motif in his art.
In 1995 he had a solo exhibition at the Santa Monica Museum of Art.[2] His work is held in the permanent collection of the Laguna Art Museum.[3]
