Jenny Cheshire (born 1946) is a British sociolinguist and professor at Queen Mary, University of London. Her research interests include language and gender, syntactic and discourse structure and narrative analysis. She has written widely on these topics for various publications.

She is most known for her work on grammatical variation in adolescent speech. Among her publications, she has written over 6 academic books, including:
