James W. Dobson (born in 1939) was a third baseman who is most notable for winning the 1959 College World Series Most Outstanding Player award while a sophomore at University of Oklahoma. He is one of two players from University of Oklahoma to win that award. The other is Chip Glass.

He spent two years playing baseball professionally, never reaching the majors. He hit 14 home runs with 65 RBI in the minors.
