James Molinari is an American basketball coach. Molinari is head coach of the Western Illinois University Leathernecks. Prior to being named coach at WIU, Molinari was as assistant coach at Ball State University[1] after serving as the interim head coach at the University of Minnesota, replacing Dan Monson on November 30, 2006 and being succeeded by Tubby Smith on March 22, 2007. [1] Previously, he served as head men's basketball coach at Northern Illinois University and Bradley University. He also was a scout for the Toronto Raptors and Miami Heat. Despite being a very defensive minded coach today, he was an offensive minded player during his time at Kansas State University and Illinois Wesleyan University. Jim Molinari is the father of 4: Mark, Billy, David, and Joy Molinari. Mark currently attends Western Illinois University and is a sophomore there, while Billy is signed to play basketball player there next fall, and David and Joy are both attending Peoria Christian School in Peoria, Illinois.

His favorite restaurant is Jalapeño's on Pioneer Parkway in Peoria, Illinois, and frequents it regularly.
