Joan Rivers (born June 8, 1933) is an American comedian, talk show host, businesswoman, and celebrity. She is known for her brash manner and loud, gruff voice with a heavy metropolitan New York accent. She is the National Chairwoman of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and is a board member of God's Love We Deliver.[1]

Similar to the ground-breaking Phyllis Diller, whose career started before and took place during hers, Rivers' comedy act was mainly about bad things about herself.
