Jon Smith (born December 19, 1975) is a British writer.
Jon Smith was brought up in Merseyside, where he remained until he was eighteen. He studied for a degree in American Studies at the University of Reading which included a semester at the University of Texas, at Austin.[1] After graduating in 1997 Jon spent a year in South Korea, teaching English as a foreign language. Returning to the UK in 1998, Jon Smith worked for a number of Internet companies including Amazon.co.uk and Kitbag.com before launching his own online toy business called Toytopia in 2002. It was whilst working in the shop that Jon wrote first drafts of Toytopia, and The Blokes Guide To Pregnancy which were both published in 2004. Smarter Business Start Ups and Web Sites That Work followed, shortly after.
Jon married long-term partner Lisa Grant in 2003, they have two children; Alia and Ronin.
Jon and Lisa separated in 2008.
Jon Smith lives in Barcelona, Spain and writes fiction, non-fiction, screenplays and musical theatre.
