José Ramón Larraz (born 1929 in Barcelona) is a Spanish director of exploitation and horror fims such as the erotic and bloody Vampyres (1974). He began making films in England, then in 1976 apparently relocated his operations back to Spain. His last few horror films were Spanish/ American co-productions. He apparently retired from filmmaking in 1992 at age 63. He made many different types of films, but his best known horror films are as follows:

  • VAMPYRES: DAUGHTERS OF DARKNESS (1974) (British)
  • SYMPTOMS (1974) co-starring Angela Pleasance (British)
  • BLACK CANDLES (aka SEX RITES OF THE DEVIL) (1982) co-starring Helga Line (Spanish) *This film is X Rated with graphic nudity and simulated sex acts
  • REST IN PIECES (1987) co-starring Jack Taylor and Patty Shepard (Spanish-U.S. co-production)
  • EDGE OF THE AXE (1988) co-starring Jack Taylor and Patty Shepard (Spanish-U.S. co-production)
  • DEADLY MANOR (1990) (Spanish-U.S. co-production)
