Jyrki 69 (born Jyrki Pekka Emil Linnankivi on October 15, 1968), is the lead vocalist for Finnish rock band The 69 Eyes. In the earlier years of the band, they sounded more like a Sleaze Rock band. Since the album Blessed Be they've been sounding more closer to Gothic Rock.[1] The 69 Eyes prefer to label their sound as Goth'n'Roll.[1]
Jyrki's low and operatic vocal tone is reminiscent of fellow bass Peter Steele of the Gothic metal band Type O Negative and has been heavily influenced by Peter Murphy, Elvis Presley, Jim Morrison and Glenn Danzig.[1]
