KDE e.V. is a registered non-profit organization that represents the KDE project in the legal and financial entities. KDE's growing popularity has made it necessary to establish an organization that can handle KDE developers all legal and financial issues. In 1997, KDE e.V. under German law to register as associations. "e.V." representative "eingetragener Verein", which means "registered association."
The association supports KDE's innovative and distribution in cash, hardware, and other donations, and then the use of donations to help the KDE development.
