KKBZ (105.1 The Blaze) is a radio station broadcasting a hard classic rock format. Licensed to Auberry, California, USA, the station serves the Fresno/Clovis area. 105.1 The Blaze features bands such as AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Motley Crue, Stone Temple Pilots, Rush & Def Leppard. The station is currently owned by Lotus Communications Corp..[2]

History

The station went on the air as KXDR on 1990-07-12. on 1992-03-27, the station changed its call sign to KSLK, on 1994-10-07 to KGST-FM, on 1995-08-01 to KLBN, on 2008-05-05 to the current KKBZ.[3]

Programming

The current weekday lineup includes Jen Lipp in the mornings. Her show features "Everything You Need To Know" (News& Commentary) and "The Freaks" (Idiots In The News doing idiotic things). From 9am to noon, the station rocks commercial free. At noon is "Out To Lunch" (which allows listeners to play and announce their requested song while grubbing on free food). Carlota is on from 1pm-5pm, and Rick Roddam handles duties of Program Director as well as the 5pm-10pm air shift. Rick's show features "Mandatory Metallica" (3 Metallica songs in a row). Weekends include Dee Snider with a 2 hour show called "House Of Hair" which is a show that features 80's Hair and Metal Bands.
