KKNT (960 AM, "Newstalk 960") is a radio station broadcasting a News Talk Information format. Licensed to Phoenix, Arizona, USA, the station serves the Phoenix area. The station is currently owned by Common Ground Broadcasting, Inc and features programming from Salem Communications.[2]

KKNT primarily airs national talk programming from its Salem Radio Network.

History

The station was assigned the call letters KARZ on 1979-05-01. On 1983-01-24, the station changed its call sign to KOOL, on 1996-10-07 to KPXQ, on 1999-10-14 to KCTK, and on 2002-09-01 to the current KKNT.[3] The station adopted its current format in 2002; before that, it was the Christian instruction and talk station KPXQ, or "Q96." The KPXQ call sign was moved to 1360AM.
