Past personalities

JACK PAAR -- The best known radio news personality in the history of Monterey County. Jack also took part in the advance paratrooper landing on D-Day. CLAUDE BARNETT -- Managed KNRY and KIDD radio. John Walton's best manager. Rich Dixon -- Talk host on before leaving to fill in at KGO, San Francisco. William (Bill) Beaton, Jr. was the General Manager during the "Heart and Soul of Rock and Roll" era. The call letters were changed to "KNRY" in 1982 as a tribute to the stations historic location on Canary Row. The idea for these new call letters came from Deborah (Lundin) Beaton, Bill Beaton's first wife. Ed Dickinson -- "Way Back Now" host. Perhaps the best announcer to ever speak into a mike on the West Coast. Deb Romanski -- Best producer Dixon ever had. Heart of gold . . . tough as nails!
