KYNS (1340 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a News Talk Information format. Licensed to San Luis Obispo, California, USA, it serves the San Luis Obispo area. The station is currently owned by Mapleton Communications, LLC.

History

1340AM has been identified with previous call letters, KGLO, sometimes pronounced "K-GLOW" in the 1980's & 90s. After its local owners sold it to Mapleton Communications in 1997, the calls were changed to KYNS, which stands for "your news station." It airs the liberal talk programming provided by the Air America network. KYNS continues to feature local radio programs as well as Air America and other nationally syndicated radio programs.
