The Kakanj mine disaster was a mining accident on June 7, 1965 at a coal mine in Kakanj, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
A methane gas explosion at the Orasi mine shaft of the Kakanj mine casused a cave-in, which killed 128 miners. There were no survivors.[1] The Kakanj disaster remained the worst one in the country's history until the Dobrnja-Jug mine disaster‎ in 1990.
