Kama Chinen (知念 カマ Chinen Kama, born 10 May 1895 in Okinawa, Japan), who, at the age of 114,[1] became the world's oldest person when American Gertrude Baines died on 11 September 2009,[2] She is one of the 30 oldest people ever.

In September 2008, Chinen was reported to be in a wheelchair: "Though her daily activities require assistance, she enjoys going outside in a wheelchair with a nurse, the ministry said."[3]
