Kamaraj Plan was a political plan formulated in 1963 by K. Kamaraj Nadar a senior leader of Indian National Congress, proposing that all senior Congress leaders should resign form their posts and devote all their energy to the re-vitalization of the Congress. The plan had support of Jawaharlal Nehru, the then Prime Minister of India.

A number of Union Ministers and State Chief Ministers like Lal Bahadur Shastri, Jagjivan Ram, Morarji Desai, Biju Patnaik, and S.K. Patil followed suit and resigned from their posts.

Kamaraj Nadar had noticed that the Congress party was slowly losing its vigor. So he came up with this plan.

There is also criticism that this plan was introduced to get rid of senior Congress ministers to make way for Indira Gandhi, daughter of Nehru.
