Katie Dianne Featherston (born October 20, 1982) is an American actress who played the role of Katie in the film Paranormal Activity, which was made in 2007 but released in the United States in 2009.[1]

Featherston was born in Texas and attended the Southern Methodist University where she studied acting.[2][3] She graduated with a bachelor's degree of fine arts in 2005 and afterwards moved to Los Angeles.[3]
Featherston, like her co-star Micah Sloat, responded to the Paranormal Activity casting ad from a posting in Craigslist. The film has grossed more than $100 million to date.[3] Featherston worked as a waitress at the Buca di Beppo at Universal CityWalk until the successful wide release of Paranormal Activity in late 2009.[4]
In October 2009, Featherston signed with the Agency for the Performing Arts (APA).[3]
