Korean Air Cargo Flight 8509 was a Boeing 747-2B5F, registered HL7451, that crashed due to pilot error in 1999. On 22 December 1999, shortly after take-off from London Stansted Airport at 18:36, Flight 8509 plunged into the ground at a speed in between 250 and 300 knots, 40 degrees nose down pitch and 90 degrees bank to the left. The aircraft crashed into Hatfield Forest near the village of Great Hallingbury at 18:38, 2 minutes after take-off, killing all 4 crew onboard. [1][2]
