List of South Park episodes

"Korn's Groovy Pirate Ghost Mystery" is the twelfth episode of the third season of Comedy Central's animated series South Park. It originally aired on October 27, 1999. The episode features issues of necrophilia and a parody of the animated series Scooby-Doo (with the band Korn playing the part of the Scooby gang).

In this episode, the radio station KOZY 102.1 is sponsoring a "Halloween Haunt". The children are excited about Halloween, except for Cartman who begins to celebrate the fact that it is only two months to Christmas. They visit various attractions including a spooky lab where Cartman sticks his hand up a donkey's rear end. The fifth graders soon play a prank on them. Stan decides to prank them back to retaliate. To get back at the fifth graders, the children decide to dig up Kyle's dead grandmother, Cleo Broflovski, much to his dismay.

Meanwhile, Korn are driving in what resembles the Mystery Machine which crashes when the band spots "Pirate Ghosts" on the road.

After digging up Kyle's Grandmother's corpse, the boys leave it at the harbor, where the corpse is promptly eaten by a stray dog. At the docks, the children meet Korn, who have been wandering around. Soon, Priest Maxi appears and condemns the band for appearing in town, believing they are Satanic. The following morning, the grave watchers appear at Mrs. Broflovski's house and report the news that Grandma Cleo's body is missing. The grave watchers then presume that her corpse has been stolen by a necrophiliac.

Cartman believes that his mother's life sized blow-up Antonio Banderas Love Doll is his early Christmas present and he goes to town with it inflated. The children return to the docks in their costumes hoping to win the contest for best costume, with Kenny wearare blown up and one ghost decapitates two others.

Korn and the children go investigate the "Mystery of the Pirate Ghosts and the missing body." After a few mishaps, it is revealed that Priest Maxi was involved with the Pirate Ghosts. The mystery of Cleo Broflovski's missing corpse is solved when the dog regurgitates the body, whole. The Halloween Haunt goes as planned, with Korn playing "Falling Away from Me" which shocks the crowd, as their cheery personality in the episode is a strong contrast to the song. The boys get their revenge against the 5th graders while Korn is playing, scaring them with the corpse. Kenny's ED-209 costume doesn't win him first prize in the best Halloween Costume Competition and he ends up getting killed by miniature Snowspeeders while inside his costume during the closing credits.
