Kyper, born Randall S. Kiper, was an electro-hop rapper based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The peak of his success occurred in the late 1980s with a string of club hits including "Conceited," "What Gets Your Body Hyped (XTC)," "Tic-Tac-Toe," "Throw Down," and "Spin the Bottle." Kyper's career came to an early end as rap and dance music evolved, with the arrival of urban hip-hop and house as the 1990s progressed.

His biggest hit was "Tic-Tac-Toe," which charted on the Billboard Top 40 in the summer of 1990, peaking at #14.[1] The track sampled instrumental passages from "Owner of a Lonely Heart" by Yes.
