Kyriaki or Kiriaki (Greek: Κυριάκι), older forms: -o and -on is a community and is one of the largest communities (towns and cities) in the Boeotia Prefecture, Greece. Its 2001 population was 2,194 for the village and 2,420 for the community. Kyriaki, is near Aspra Spitia, one of the country's most famous aluminum producing villages that has a factory named Aluminium de Grece (renamed Alouminion Inc now) and has several mines nearby.

Geography

A few farmlands are around the area. The mountains that are mainly filled with grasslands and rocks covers around the area, forests are found mainly in low lying areas. The Gulf of Corinth is approximately 5 to 6 km souhtwest.

History

After World War II and the Greek Civil War, the whole town was rebuilt by the mid to late 1950s. The village population boomed and aluminum was mined later on producing a part of its economy. The population dropped dramatically between 1981 and 1991, the declined slowed between 1991 and 2001.
