La Razón is Spain's fifth highest-circulation general-interest daily newspaper based in Madrid. It is the newest of the five most read, having been founded in 1998 by Luis Maria Ansón.

The newspaper has satellite news bureaux, and local editions, in Barcelona, Murcia, Seville, Valencia and Valladolid.

Trailing the Madrid papers ABC, El Mundo and El País, and the Barcelona paper La Vanguardia, La Razón is the fifth-largest circulation newspaper in Spain.[1] (187.000 readers, January 2008, OJD).

The newspaper's editorial stances are primarily liberal economically and conservative socially.
