The Limerick Post is a free weekly newspaper, distributed throughout Limerick City and County, parts of Clare, Tipperary in the region of Munster, Ireland. According to the Audit Bureau of Circulations, the newspaper had an average weekly ABC circulation of 32,315 for the 6 months Jan -June 2009 and an ABC Bulk Distribution weekly circulation of 16,693 for the 6 months Jan -June 2009. The Limerick Post was established in 1986 and remains the only locally owned newspaper in Limerick. The Post is published each Thursday morning. Its owner editor is Billy Ryan. It recently modernised its website, with more content including video, polls and a new Digital Edition. Its main competitors are the Limerick Leader. On Saturday 24th January 2009, the Limerick Post won the coveted title of Best Free newspaper in the mid-west region, at the Mid West Arts Media and Culture Awards held at the Radisson SAS Hotel. The new ABC circulation figures confirm the Limerick Post as having the hghest circulation figures in Limerick and the Mid West.
