The following is a list of the Governors-General of Australia from the establishment of the Commonwealth of Australia as a Federation in 1901 to the present day.

Prior to Federation, one Governor of New South Wales, Sir Charles Augustus FitzRoy, was appointed "Governor-General of all Her Majesty's Australian Possessions"[1], giving him some jurisdiction over the governors of the other colonies, which he was never called upon to exercise.
