The Aleutia E3 based on 1.0GHz MSTI processor can be used as web access kiosk.

Computers that come with a Linux distribution preinstalled. The embedded models generally use a special, small Linux version which has been compiled for such reduced capability computers. Unlike the other computer types listed, they can therefore not run the standard application programs which are available by the thousands from the Linux repositories.

  • The LiMo (Linux Mobile) Foundation is an alliance founded by Motorola, NEC, NTT DoCoMo, Panasonic Mobile Communications, Samsung Electronics, and Vodafone in January 2007 to co-develop the LiMo Platform, a Linux-based mobile platform operating system. Since then a number of new members (e.g., the Mozilla Foundation) have joined the alliance.
  • oFono.org is a place to bring developers together around designing an infrastructure for building mobile telephony (GSM/UMTS) applications. oFono.org is licensed under GPLv2, and it includes a high-level D-Bus API for use by telephony applications of any license. oFono.org also includes a low-level plug-in API for integrating with open source as well as third party telephony stacks, cellular modems and storage back-ends. The plug-in API functionality is modeled on public standards, in particular 3GPP TS 27.007 "AT command set for User Equipment (UE)."
  • Many various Motorola model phones are running Linux. Motorola was the first company to sell in any significant volumes phones running Linux. Motorola began developing their first Linux based phone platform called EZX in 2001. The EZX platform is used by the A760, E680i and A1200 models which incorporate touch-screens making handwriting recognition possible making these models particularly popular in Asia. Some Open Source hacking of these Linux based Motorola phones can be seen through communities such as the openezx.org. Before 2008, the majority of Motorola's Linux based phones have been sold in Asia. Since 2008, Motorola has even more models and various derivations of the EZX software platform for different device types, all based on Linux. The latest Motorola phone using Linux is the Motorola Krave ZN4 which is being sold in the U.S.
  • In the Japanese market, there have been a number of phones sold which run Linux. NTT DoCoMo distributed phones made by Panasonic and NEC as part of their FOMA initiative which ran Linux. Models include the P901i, P901iTV, P902i, P902iS, N900iL, N901iC and N902i. Panasonic and NEC cooperated in some of their development efforts to commercialize the software platform based on Linux to meet the FOMA specifications. NEC and Panasonic also participated in the CELF forum which has helped share information and knowledge between manufacturers in Japan using Linux.
  • First International Computer's Neo 1973 and Neo Freerunner run several different OpenEmbedded based distributions developed by Openmoko; they also run Debian.
  • Wistron Neweb produced a phone in 2006, called the GW1, which runs Linux. It is notable for being an early phone featuring dual mode GSM + WiFi. It was also rebranded and distributed in France by the operator Neuf as the Neuf Twin.
  • ZTE have produced a number of mobile phones running Linux. Their E3 was their first. They also made the U980 which also runs Linux, and is notable for being one of the first phones to be sold commercially supporting TD-SCDMA.
  • Miscellaneous other mobile phone models: E28, Samsung SCH-i519, Yulong Coolpad, Philips CT9688, Accton VM1188T, Emblaze Mobile Edelweiss.
  • A number of Taiwan manufacturers have made various VoIP devices, including desk phones, video phones and Skype devices running Linux. These manufacturers include Leadtek, Accton, Quanta and Compal, but the various Linux devices by these manufacturers are usually branded with other companies brands when sold. For example, Accton's VM1185T Skype phone is branded and sold by Belkin as the Belkin WiFi phone.
  • T-Mobile G1 runs the Android platform, which has Linux kernel.
