Doc Rivers is the Orlando Magic's only coach to have won Coach of the Year.

The Orlando Magic are an American professional basketball team based in Orlando, Florida. They play in the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The franchise was founded in 1989 as an expansion team, and has played at the Amway Arena (formerly known as the Orlando Arena, TD Waterhouse Centre, and The Arena in Orlando) since its inception.[1] The team is owned by Orlando Magic, Ltd., a subsidiary of RDV Sports, Inc., and its current general manager is Otis Smith.[2] The team has won four division titles (1995, 1996, 2008, 2009), two conference titles (1995, 2009), but no championships.[3]

There have been eight head coaches for the Magic franchise.[4] The team's first head coach was Matt Guokas, who coached the team for 328 games over 4 seasons.[5] Brian Hill is the team's all-time leader in regular-season games coached (459), as well as in playoff games coached (40) and playoff games won (18).[6] Hill is also the team's all-time leader in regular-season games won (267), and he is the team's only coach to have coached during two non-consecutive periods.[6] Stan Van Gundy has been the team's current coach since the beginning of the 2007–08 season. He is the team's all-time leader in regular-season winning percentage (.680) and playoff winning percentage (.568).[7] Doc Rivers is the team's only coach to have won the NBA Coach of the Year award, winning it after the 1999–2000 season.[8] Chris Jent is the team's only head coach to have spent their entire career with the Magic.[9]
