Molla Mallory's eight US singles championships is the all-time record among both men and woman.
Chris Evert's six singles titles is the open era record.
Steffi Graf is a five-time champion, and won five over a nine year timespan
Martina Navratilova is a four-time champion, and won these twice back-to-back
Billie Jean King is a four-time champion overall and a three-time champion in the open era, and won three in four year timespan
Serena Williams is a three-time champion, and won these over a ten year timespan

This is a listing of all the women's singles finals for the U.S. Open (and its precursor, the U.S. National Championship), the fourth and final Grand Slam tennis tournament each year.[1]
