Justin is going out with a girl called Miranda, but he can't seem to kiss her. He then goes to the cinema, where he tries to kiss her but messes it up. Alex rewinds time to give Justin 18 chances to get his one kiss with Miranda (which he messes up all the time), but gets caught by her dad who lets her do the spell for the eighteenth time. Meanwhile, Max creates a sandwich that is among the few being considered for the New York Mets official sandwich, but he can't seem to remember the ingredients. However, Alex's time manipulation also ends up ruining the chances of the sandwich, though the family's anger is forgotten when they discover that Justin just had his first kiss. When it is discovered that Alex has not had her own first kiss, Justin teases her, but she gets back at him by kissing a random boy right in front of him the next day. After Harper complains that she and Alex never spend time together anymore, Alex decides to tell her parents to hire Harper. She somehow convinces her parents to actually hire her, but it turns out that Harper is a complete klutz and has never worked a real day in her life. After her parents tell her to either make Harper improve immediately or fire her after an hour of complete destruction made by Harper, Alex uses "The Serving Wench Spell" to help Harper overcome her skills of an oaf. However, her plan becomes backfired when Harper becomes a strict workaholic and leads Alex to fire her best friend. Meanwhile, Justin starts a tutoring business that makes Frankie feel mad, and tries to get back at Justin by having a bunch of kids try to beat him up. In order to get back at Frankie, Justin gets his dumb, yet strong students to scare and beat up Frankie and his friends into the ice cream parlor where Harper has been working for only a few hours and suddenly became Employee of the Month. Alex then runs into the scene, where Harper makes everyone who wants to use the restroom order something, and tries very badly to apologize to Harper, which doesn't exactly work out. So she uses another spell to ruin Harper's great waitressing skills, and they make up while covered in frozen yogurt. Alex, Justin, and Max get their wizard report cards. To hide the fact that she did terrible, Alex attempts to destroy the report card numerous times, all of which are unsuccessful. When Jerry and Theresa become suspicious, Alex, in a panic, turns them into guinea pigs. After Headmaster Crumbs finds out that Alex lied about her parents and her report card, he suspends Alex's powers for irresponsibility. Max and Justin lose the guinea pigs, not realizing who they actually are, and are brought up to speed by Alex. After finding them and changing them back, Professor Crumbs, shocked how much trouble Alex has caused, decides to permanently strip Alex of her powers, but Justin stands up for her, explaining that cleaning up after Alex makes him a better wizard. Moved by Justin's loyalty to his younger sister, and seeing that Alex has learned her lesson, Crumbs gives Alex back her powers and departs. Also, joining in the party is Grandma Magdalena, who forgets her responsibility to teach Max and Justin to salsa dance. Alex then begins to feel guilty for lying and keeping secrets, and she is tired from using up all of her energy to keep the secret. Cupid's return gets delayed after Max accidentally breaks his arrow and it strikes Justin. Harper finally asks Justin out and he accepts because he got hit by the love arrow, and Harper is excited until this "new" Justin starts to bug her, and she starts to miss the "old" Justin that didn't return her feelings. In the end, he praises them for following their dreams because he didn't follow his own, which was to be a bull rider, and the band was a success, but the pride is short lived when they find out Max used magic to make a fake audience that would enjoy the show. In the end, Alex gives Jerry a chance to live out his old dream, but it is so embarrassing that Theresa and the kids unanimously agree never to speak of it again. At the beginning of the episode, we find out that magic is out for a while. Alex tricks Harper into letting her take care of the one of a kind dress that Harper's new boss designed for fashion week. But Alex wears the dress, and she gets caught by Justin in her room. She then drops his tray of food on him, and he then hugs her, ruining the dress. Alex must figure things out on her own since magic is gone. Meanwhile, Justin and Zeke try to find a way to pick up the models that are in the fashion show. Later, Alex tells Harper that the dress is ruined. Minutes later, Mr. Frenchie (the designer) tells Harper that his fashion show was double booked. Alex is with Harper at the time, so she asks Mr. Frenchie if he would like to have it at the sub station. Justin and Zeke take advantage of the models staying at the sub station by getting them to play Dungeons and Gargoyles with them. But the models accidentally get food poisoning from eating bad sandwiches. just when thing are bad Magic comes back so Alex can finally set things right. Alex, Justin and Max discover that a famous author (Rachel Dratch) is using their lives as the premise for her best-selling novels named Charmed and Dangerous. However, the wizards are shocked learning that she is actually Harper from the future, (she also mentions the important fact the she broke up with Mason) who traveled back in time to sell wizard novels, as they no longer sell so well in the future as the existence of magic is now public knowledge. The Future Harper insists Justin that he must get Alex to give Harper permission to write the books, otherwise the future will be ruined. In the end of the episode, Selena Gomez and Rob Reiner comically talk about the importance of reading. It is Jerry's birthday so Justin gives him a magical pencil holder and Max was going to go with his annual cat, but decides to go with Justin's pencil sharpener. When Alex looks for a gift better that Justin's she goes to the wizard world and gets the Merlin hat which grants any wish for a day. Jerry wishes for a box of pencils and for a Milky Way Milkshake from the Asteroid Belt. Alex then thinks that his wishes are silly so she uses the hat to turn the Sub Station into the Asteroid Belt. It brings in a lot of customers and Jerry makes their shift go up and makes them wear goofy costumes. A day later, the aliens heard that the milky way milkshake machine has reopened and wants to take it. Justin is excited to meet London Tipton when he wins an essay contest prize: a cruise on the SS Tipton. Theresa and Jerry say Alex can't go because of her 14 absent assignments. Alex (who eventually sneaks away, but is caught and agrees to take classes on board) and Max join Justin onboard, where Alex bonds with new friend Bailey Pickett, but soon gets in hot water when she uses magic to bring Harper aboard. Meanwhile, Max and Zack, (who has developed a massive crush on Alex), compete in a series of outrageous challenges. Alex says that she is Ashley Olsen so she won't get caught skipping classes. But gets caught after mistaking her name and telling Mr. Moseby that her real name is Ashley Simpson. In the 2nd episode, Double Crossed, when Alex gets sick of Justin's attitude, she puts blue dye in the hot tub to prank him. As his first official monster hunting assignment, Justin is dispatched to capture a mind controlling mummy after all of the other monster hunters are apparently killed in action. Arriving at the museum, Justin and Juliet end up getting trapped in an exhibit with a soundproof plastic window, leaving them unable to call for help and the window itself immune to Justin's magic. Justin believes that they can wait till morning for a worker to let them out, but quickly realizes otherwise when he remembers that exposure to sunlight will incinerate Juliet. Justin ultimately decides that Juliet needs to look in the mummy's eyes and become his slave in order to leave so she will not be destroyed, though he promises to hunt down the mummy and save her one day. Meanwhile, Alex, in an attempt to sabotage Max's increasingly good behavior and gain a better chance at winning the wizard competition, has Harper separate Conscience from Max, and Max's behavior becomes increasingly horrific; however, she quickly rushes to fix the problem when Jerry informs her that Conscience will become his own person if he is separated from Max for too long. After reuniting Max and his conscience, Alex discovers Justin's plight and rushes to save him, but arrives too late to save Juliet from the mummy. Alex meets Mason, a transfer student from England and they start to date. He is perfect in every way with the exception of his view of art, which is dogs and parts of American history. Alex tries to make him more American, by throwing water balloons at people (being rude) and laughing in appreciation (making fun of Mr. Laritate and Harper's clothes). In order to make him a better artist, Alex takes matters into her own hands by putting a spell on Mason to make her his new artistic inspiration. Meanwhile, Justin trains for finding the mummy that took away Juliet, during which it is discovered that, when Max cast the spell that set monsters running loose in an idiotic attempt to sabotage Justin's monster hunting, one of the escaped monsters is said mummy, thus making Max himself indirectly responsible for both Juliet's kidnapping and the deaths of all of the other monster hunters. In this episode, Justin and Max continue to search for Juliet. Meanwhile, Mason and Alex continue dating and Mason gives her a glowing necklace. However, Mason keeps running away from Alex before the evening. She becomes suspicious and follows him one night. Alex and Harper discover that Mason is actually a werewolf. She confesses that she is a wizard and they continue to date. Mason then reveals that the necklace only glows when someone is in love with the person who put it on the other person. When Justin and Max find out that Mason is a werewolf, Justin thinks that Mason can help track down Juliet. He tracks her scent to Transylvania, where the mummy has been holding Juliet prisoner and expecting Justin. Trapping them, the mummy reveals that he has been keeping Juliet frozen in a hieroglyph while she is not working for him, but they destroy the mummy by unraveling his bandages, causing him to crumble into dust. The Russos' happiness at saving Juliet is cut short when it is discovered that Juliet and Mason dated one another three centuries ago, and the situation worsens when Mason impulsively blurts out that he still loves her. The Russos and Juliet leave. Alex is heartbroken the next day, and Mason goes to the substation to talk to Alex, but she won't let him explain, and Harper decides to set up an "Alex-watch" to keep the two separate. Later, Mason meets Max, who manages to take him to Alex. Mason is able to persuade Alex to go back to Transylvania with him to search for the True Love Necklace, so that Mason can prove his feelings for her. Justin, Max, and Juliet follow them. At odds with Justin, Mason transforms into a full Werewolf and starts to attack Justin, only to be attacked by Juliet herself. During the fight, Juliet bites Mason and is scratched by him in turn: as a result, Juliet becomes mortal and quickly ages into a white-haired old lady, and Mason transforms into an actual wolf. Before this happens, however, Alex successfully locates the necklace and puts it on Mason, which proves that he does indeed love her. Realizing that they can no longer be together, Juliet and Mason break up with the Russos and depart, leaving both Alex and Justin completely heartbroken. Justin and Zeke are running against each other to become Student Body President. Justin soon finds his efforts put in jeopardy after someone wallpaper's Principal Laritate’s office with posters of his campaign and he is accused of masterminding the prank. In Saturday detention, Alex befriends a rebellious new girl at school named Stevey. On their trip to Coney Island, Jerry, Max and Harper are stuck on a ferris wheel and Max drops his wand in an attempt to get them off. Harper is flashed off the ferris wheel by Alex, and they both try to help Justin out of trouble. Meanwhile, Justin has gained newfound popularity by taking credit for the prank and also to get more votes for his campaign. But his friendship with Zeke may be strained when he chooses his popularity over his best friend. In the end, Justin wins the race but he is disqualified because of the prank. Alex takes the blame so Justin can become president but Stevey confesses that she pulled off the prank. Justin becomes Student Body President by five votes, gaining his friendship with Zeke back and loosing his popularity.
