This is a list of songs that have reached Number One on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, a singles chart created in 1958 which monitors the most popular singles in the United States of America.

The following year-by-year, week-by-week listings are based on statistics accrued by Billboard Magazine since before and after the inception of its Hot 100 popularity chart (August, 1958). All data were pooled from record purchases and radio/jukebox play within the United States.
