Alaska is a U.S. state which has more than 12,000 rivers, and thousands more streams and creeks.[2] According to United States Geological Survey Geographic Names Information System, Alaska has about 9,728 officially-named rivers, creeks, and streams.A[›] The length of the river is given if it is available from the United States Geological Survey Geographic Names Information System (GNIS).
