Manx registered general cargo Jökulfell sinks 60 nautical miles (110 km) north of the Faroe Islands. Of the 11 crew members, which were mainly Russians and Estonians, 6 were lost.[1]
Schooner Irving Johnson ran aground at Channel Islands harbour. Ship was later refloated, no casualties
Maersk Holyhead collided with the Liberian panamax bulk carrier Pequot off the Maracaibo Lake with heavy damage.[2][3]
