The list of shipwrecks in 2005 includes all ships sunk, foundered, grounded, or otherwise lost during 2005.

February

7 February

Manx registered general cargo Jökulfell sinks 60 nautical miles (110 km) north of the Faroe Islands. Of the 11 crew members, which were mainly Russians and Estonians, 6 were lost.[1]

March

25 March

Schooner Irving Johnson ran aground at Channel Islands harbour. Ship was later refloated, no casualties

July

Maersk Holyhead collided with the Liberian panamax bulk carrier Pequot off the Maracaibo Lake with heavy damage.[2][3]
