Lorna Katie Fitzgerald (born 8 March 1996[2][3]) is a British actress from Northampton. She lives in Hunsbury.

Personal life

Fitzgerald started attending Stage Coach Drama Classes at the age of four.[4] She has two older sisters, Corinne (18) and Abigail (17). She is a keen dancer and enjoys ballet and tap.[5] She also plays the guitar and keeps active by swimming.[5][6] Her best friend on set is Madeline Duggan who plays her onscreen sister Lauren Branning.

She appeared in the Casualty episode 'Animals',[5][6][7] and a short film called Big Girl, Little Girl.[4][8] She also appeared in the ITV drama The Golden Hour,[6] as well as playing Sarah Lancashire's daughter Jade Cannings in Cherished,[5][6][9] and Young Bex in According to Bex.[10] She has also been in adverts for Childline and Nescafe.

Some time after attending acting classes, Fitzgerald joined the Stagecoach Theatre Arts School in Stony Stratford, and Derngate Theatre School.[4] Through her agent, she heard about the role in BBC One soap opera EastEnders, and went to the BBC Studios in London for the first of three auditions.[4] She was cast as Abi Branning, making her first appearance in 2006.[5][6][11][11]

Fitzgerald has also been in a variety of plays, musicals and other TV programmes.

In November 2009, Fitzgerald was actively involved in a charity project in Northampton called Talking With Hands, a charity for people with hearing impairments and deafness. The project featured on ITV's Anglia news, and Fitzgerald helped with this project a great deal.[1]
