Barnsley on May 19, 1966, who was an admired and respected teacher, and the first woman to have a Montgomery County School named after her [2]. The school is one of 3 GT/LD (Gifted and Talented/Learning Disabled) elementary schools located in Montgomery County [3]. Barnsley feeds into Earle B. Wood Middle School.
