Lukaya is a town in Masaka District, in south central Uganda. It is one of the municipalities in Masaka District. The other municipalities in the district include Masaka Municipality and Kyazanga Municipality.

Lukaya is situated on the Masaka-Kampala Highway, close to the shores of Lake Victoria and just south of the Equator. The town is located approximately 34 kilometres (21 mi), by road, northeast of Masaka, the largest city in the sub-region.[1]
The 2002 population census estimated the population of the town at 14,147. In 2008, the Uganda Bureau of Statistics estimated the population of the town to be 15,000.[2]
