At the beginning of 2008, Lydia auditioned for the role of Holly Cunningham in Channel 4's Hollyoaks. Prior to this audition, she had been offered the chance to audition for other productions, but declined. She was one of 54 candidates up for the role of Holly who had previously appeared in Hollyoaks between 1997 and 2001, with a return in 2004. After several auditions at the shows studios in Liverpool Lydia won the role of Holly and began filming in April 2008. She made her first appearance on 9 June 2008. Lydia continues to play Holly into 2009.

She will be quite a stroppy eleven-year-old who knows her own mind - like her mum's character. There's a big storyline involving Max at the end of June, and they will be involved in that.[1]
