MAF (V-maf musculoaponeurotic fibrosarcoma oncogene homolog (avian)), is a transcription factor, but also denotes the human gene encoding it.[1]



One type, MafA, also known as RIPE3b1[2], promotes pancreatic development, as well as insulin gene transcription[3]


MAF (gene) has been shown to interact with EP300,[4] CREB binding protein,[4] SOX9[5] and MYB.[6]
