From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

MGM Parade was the title of a documentary television series produced by the MGM studio and broadcast by the ABC network during the 1955-56 season.

The series was hosted by a variety of the MGM film stars and primarily focused on showing the inner workings of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's studios. It also featured interviews with prominent actresses and actors, generally who would star in one of MGM's recent or continuing productions, who would describe how the film was made, the dynamic of the actresses and actors, crew, and director, etc. The series also served to promote upcoming releases. An example of its use as a promotional tool can be seen in the 2008 DVD release of the 1955 musical film Kismet, which includes two episodes of MGM Parade in which actors from the film are interviewed, along with behind-the-scenes footage from the making of the film, and even excerpts from the movie itself.
