The MOBAT (Motorized Battle Tank) was first released in 1982, packaged with the action figure Steeler.
It is featured prominently in issue 5. Steeler, Breaker and Clutch are the crew when it is taken, weaponless, through a parade. A Cobra squad, disguised as the bang behind them, attempts to capture the tank. Despite the lack of ammunition, the three Joes successfully utilize the tank to defeat the enemy and uncover their base of operations. [1]
The MOBAT is one of the vehicles a player can use in the 1985 G.I. Joe computer game.
