This is a Chinese name; the family name is Ma (馬).

Ma Yuanyi (? - 184) was a member of the Yellow Turban Rebellion who brought gifts from Zhang Jiao to the eunuchs to gain their support. He also led an attack on Luoyang, but was defeated and beheaded by He Jin.
