Maarja Meriste-Kivi (born 18 January 1986 in Tallinn, Estonia), also known as Marya Roxx, is an Estonian singer. She is a former member of Estonian girl band Vanilla Ninja.

Maarja teamed up with acclaimed producer Kevin Shirley to record her Debut Album 'Payback Time'. It features the talents of seasoned musicians such as Paul Crook, Scott Metaxas, Derek Sherinian and Brian Tichy. The Lead track from the album titled '21?!' is already picking up Strong support across many of the UKs rock shows. 21?! EP was released from this recording in 2008. The 21?! EP contains three songs written by Marya, "21?!," "Oh Yeah," and "Rebel," and a cover of the song "Nothing Going On" by Swedish band Clawfinger. Marya won two awards at the 2008 Mavric Music Awards in February 2009, Hard Rock Song of the Year for "21?!" and Punk Song of the Year for "Rebel" [1].

Recently Marya went back into the studio with producer Kevin Shirley to record some new songs which she will perform at her upcoming UK Tour[2]. This time the studio band were Paul Crook (guitars), Scott Metaxas (bass) and Anton Fig (drums).

Marya has performed to critical acclaim on the West Coast and in Europe. In May 2009, she embarked on a successful European tour with pop/rock artist Lafee [3]. Marya Roxx follows up her well received Hammerfest[4] appearance earlier this year with a full UK tour[5] kicking off this November in support of her forthcoming album 'Payback Time' on Golden Media Records. Marya will also play sets at London's Rock of Ages Fest Sun 22nd Nov[6] and N. Wales Hard Rock Hell on Dec 5th lining up alongside the likes of Queensryche, Monster Magnet, RATT and New York Dolls. Marya's band for this tour is former Anthrax Guitarist Paul Crook, Scott Metaxas and Jim Roe.

Personal Life

Maarja is married to her manager Renee Meriste. The couple got together in late 2003 while Maarja was starting her career in Vanilla Ninja. In September 2004, Maarja gave birth to couple's first daughter. The baby was named Dora Lisa. Maarja is currently living in Los Angeles.
